Hiking trail

The Brüggelekopf near Alberschwende is one of those mountains on which sunsets appear particularly impressive.

It’s often a fantastic spectacle when the sun sinks far in the west and literally into Lake Constance. A good place to see this ‘performance’ is the 1,182-metre-high Brüggelekopf. Almost all of Lake Constance is visible from its summit and it presents excellent views of the sunset.

Directions

From the valley station of the former Brüggelekopf lift, you hike on a well-developed supply road via the Lanzen and Tannen parcels to Alberschwende's local mountain. On the way there are always beautiful views of the Vorderwald communities of Lingenau and Langenegg. Arriving at the summit, you can enjoy a wonderful sunset with a view of Lake Constance. A forest path along the former ski slope takes you back to the valley station.

Suggestions

Tip: Delicious and refreshing food and drink await at Peter Oberhauser’s Berggasthof Brüggelekopf, which is just 100 metres away the mountain station. This mountain inn stays open until 10.00 p.m. at the height of summer.
